Viiplus composite dry sliding thrust washers provide a cost-effective and space-saving solution for axial location. Both, PTFE and POM composite thrust washers are suitable where oscillating and rotational movement can occur. These washers are punched from the composite material and have as standard a hole to take a pin or screw to prevent the washers from rotating on their seat.

POM composite thrust washers

Viiplus POM composite thrust washers have pockets in the sliding surface , which serve as grease reservoirs and should be filled with grease prior to installation. This makes these washers suitable for applications that require minimal maintenance under difficult operating conditions, for example in contaminated environments where lubricant cannot be supplied continuously or frequently. Despite of their compact design, POM composite washers can accommodate heavy axial loads and are less sensitive to misalignment. They are suitable for slow rotational or oscillating movements.

POM composite thrust washers consists of a sheet steel backing on which a 0,2 to 0,4 mm thick layer of tin/bronze is sintered. The principal characteristic of these washers is their relatively thick (0,3 mm) covering layer of acetal resin (POM – polyoxymethylene) with additives. This covering layer has pockets to retain grease and is firmly attached to the sintered tin/bronze layer .

The thickness of the covering layer makes these washers less sensitive to misalignment and the edge loading associated with that misalignment.

Material

POM Composite sliding washers are specially designed to operate with marginal
lubrication. The sliding surface has a highly effective grease retention system
with lubrication pockets, which serve as grease reservoirs. POM Composite consists of three bonded layers: a copper plated steel backing strip and a sintered porous tin bronze matrix covered with an acetal (polyoxymethylene, POM) resin.To protect the washer from corrosion the steel backing is tin plated. All POM Composite sliding bearings can be machined. However, any machining of the sliding surface should only be undertaken in exceptional cases.

Suitable for grease or oil lubrication and all kinds of movement, good load capacity, robust and insensible to dirt.

Structures

1.POM thickness 0.30~0.50 mm, it provides high wear resistance and low friction even with only minute volume of lubricant are supplied, this bearing surface carries a pattern of circular indents which should be filled with grease on assembly of the bearing.
2. Sintered bronze powder thickness 0.20-0.35mm, provides max. thermal conductivity away from the bearing surface, also serves as a reservoir for the resin mixture.
3. Low-carbon steel, provides exceptionally high load carrying capacity, excellent heat dissipation.
4. Copper/Tin plating thickness 0.002mm, provides good corrosion resistance.

Feature:

Particularly suitable for heavy-duty, low-speed rotary motion, rocking motion, and frequent fluid-lubricated parts that are opened and closed under load. Long-term use without boundary lubricationcan be achieved without refueling, while refuelling can be used during the process. The service life is more prolonged; the plastic layer on the surface can leave a certain margin when the shaft sleeve is formed and can be processed by pressing it into the opening to achieve a better assembly size
