Bronze Bushing and Bearing Material – Sleeve & Flange More
Solid inlaid lubricated bearings use high-strength copper alloy as the base material. Holes are machined on the working surface and filled with solid lubricants based on working conditions. These copper alloys offer high load capacity, and the solid lubricants reduce friction. In dry friction scenarios, a pre-lubricating film is designed on the bearing surface to quickly transfer the solid lubricant to the counterpart, forming an effective lubricating film.
Self-lubricating ASTM C93200 Bronze Bearing, Cast Bronze Sleeve Bushings
Solid self lubricating inlaid bearings are on a matrix of high force brass. A high-performance solid lubrication product inlaid with graphite or MoS2 solid lubricants. It breaks through the limitations of general bearings relying on oil film lubrication. In the process of use, the solid lubrication and shaft friction through friction heat, the formation of oil, powder co-lubrication of excellent conditions, not only protect the shaft from wear, but also make the solid lubrication characteristics eternal. Its hardness is twice as high as that of ordinary copper sleeves, and its wear resistance is also twice as high.

Application
Products are extensively utilized in continuous casting and rolling mills, injection molding machines, automobile molds, bridge machinery, the water conservancy sector, steel rolling, mining, and construction machinery, communications, steam turbines, manipulators, and offshore oil platforms.
Self-lubricating Bushing size table, tolerance
The size of the self-lubricating bronze graphite bushing can vary according to the specific application, common sizes such as inner diameter 8mm, outer diameter 10mm, length up to 1500mm, weight up to 800kg.
The specific size should be confirmed according to the actual demand.
Self-lubricating Bronze Bushings, Your Source for Bronze Bearings: More industries
The “no oil supply” concept implies minimal or no oil usage. Our research aims to ensure that bearings perform effectively under these conditions and maximize their lifespan. Self-lubricating bearings function by using friction during initial operation to form a transfer film from the solid lubricant on the surface. This film coats the opposing parts, creating a solid lubricating layer that facilitates self-lubrication. This process prevents direct contact between components, protecting them and extending the service life of both the bearings and the workpieces.

Calculation of PV Value and Recommended Installation Methods for Bushings
Understanding PV Value
The PV value, an important metric in bearing performance, is calculated using the formula:
PV=P×VPV = P times V
Where:
- P is the pressure (in MPa or psi).
- V is the velocity (in m/s or ft/s).
The PV value helps assess the load-bearing capacity and the operational limits of a bearing, ensuring optimal performance in various applications.
Recommended Installation Methods for Bushings
When installing bushings, two primary methods are recommended: room temperature press fit and cooling fit. The cooling fit method is preferred due to its ease of operation and higher precision. It is advisable to avoid methods that involve heating the bearing materials, as excessive heat can damage their structural integrity.
Cooling Fit Method
Required Materials
- Cooling Medium: Liquid ammonia or dry ice.
- Container: Insulated and heat-retaining container.
Calculating the Shrinkage of the Bearing Outer Diameter (ΔD)
The formula for calculating the shrinkage amount after cooling is:
ΔD=D×a×(T−T1)Delta D = D times a times (T – T_1)
Where:
- D is the outer diameter of the bearing.
- a is the coefficient of linear expansion for the bearing material.
- T is the cooling temperature of the bearing.
- T₁ is the ambient temperature during assembly.
Installation Procedure
-
Cooling the Bearing:
- Place the bearing in the insulated container along with the cooling medium. The recommended cooling temperature is between -40°C and -70°C.
- Allow a cooling time of at least one hour. If the interference fit between the bushing and the housing is significant, extend the cooling time accordingly.
-
Measurement:
- After cooling, measure the outer diameter of the bushing and the inner diameter of the housing to ensure proper fit.
-
Assembly:
- Quickly install the cooled bushing into the housing. Minimize any delays during this step to prevent the bushing from becoming difficult to install due to thermal expansion.
- Apply lubricating grease to the working surface of the bushing.
-
Winter Precautions:
- In colder winter months, maintain the housing temperature between 20°C and 30°C to facilitate smooth assembly.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your bushings are installed correctly and function optimally within their intended applications. Proper installation is critical to maximizing the lifespan and performance of the bearing systems in which they are used.
Bearing characteristics
Modern designs demand a lot from self-lubricating bearing materials, requiring them to be maintenance-free even in extreme environments and under maximum loads. As cost expectations rise, businesses seek greater reliability in equipment and operations. Metal self-lubricating bearings meet these demands, enabling the creation of reliable long-term self-lubricating systems. These materials are ideal for high-load, low-speed applications, including rotation, oscillation, and linear motion, and are suitable for environments where traditional lubrication is impossible, such as dusty, impact-heavy, or irradiated conditions.
