graphite impregnated Bronze Wear Plates – groove & Plug Graphite More
Bronze wear plates are specialized components used in various industrial applications to reduce friction, wear, and tear between moving parts. These plates are typically made from different bronze alloys, each offering unique properties suited for specific applications.
Solid lubricant inlaid wear plates utilize high-grade metal alloys as their base material. During the friction process, they are designed to automatically release solid lubricants and lubricating oils due to the graphite and grease embedded within them. These bearings are extensively used in various applications such as injection molding machines, automobile molds, food machinery, water turbines, and engineering machinery, making them highly versatile and effective in reducing wear and enhancing equipment efficiency.
Bronze Wear Plate, Self Lubricating Wear Ways
Wear plates are crucial for guiding and controlling linear motion under heavy loads, serving as linear bearings for efficient movement. We offer a variety of bronze wear plates, from raw cast to fully machined components. Below, we detail the different types available. Mounting holes are not included to allow for customization.
Oilless Wear Plate, Common Bronze Alloys for Wear Plates
- Tin Bronze (C90700 to C94500): Known for good corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and low friction properties.
- Commonly used in applications requiring moderate loads and speeds.
- Aluminum Bronze (C95400, C95500, C95800): Contains copper and aluminum, offering excellent strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.
- Suitable for high-load, high-speed applications and aggressive environments.
- Manganese Bronze (C86200 to C86500): Composed of copper, zinc, and manganese, providing good strength and wear resistance.
- Often used in applications requiring high strength and good corrosion resistance.
- Leaded Tin Bronze (C83600, C84400, C93200): Contains copper, tin, and lead, offering improved machinability and increased wear resistance.
Ideal for applications with moderate loads and speeds, providing good wear resistance and low friction
Sliding Partners: Benefits of Bronze Wear Plates
Sliding Partners: Suitable sliding partners for bushes and plates include gas-nitrated or hardened steel alloys with a hardness of HRC > 35. To ensure optimal sliding behavior, the hardness difference between the sliding material and its partner should be at least 100 HB. The surface roughness of the sliding partner should be between Rz = 3 to 6.3 µm (achieved by grinding). In applications like large dies of punching tools, where guides are repeatedly separated during operation, the counterpart should have adequately large centering chamfers.
Self-Lubricating Properties: Some bronze wear plates, such as aluminum bronze graphite wear plates, incorporate graphite particles that provide self-lubrication, reducing the need for additional lubrication and maintenance.
Corrosion Resistance: Bronze alloys, particularly those with aluminum and manganese, offer excellent resistance to corrosion, making them suitable for marine and other harsh environments.
High Strength and Durability: Bronze wear plates are known for their high strength and durability, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications
Applications of Bronze Wear Plates
Wear Components,Bronze Components Designed for Extended Wear Life!
Marine Industry: Due to their high corrosion resistance, bronze wear plates are often used in ship propellers, bearings, and other marine hardware.
Industrial Machinery: Used in various industrial machines to reduce friction and wear in moving parts, such as in bearings, bushings, and gears.
Construction and Mining: Employed in heavy machinery and equipment to enhance durability and reduce downtime caused by wear and tear.
Selecting the Wear Plate Materials for Your Needs, Plug Graphite Slide plate Bearings
Bronze wear plates are essential components in various industries due to their excellent wear resistance, self-lubricating properties, and high strength. Different bronze alloys are selected based on the specific requirements of the application, ensuring optimal performance and longevity. Additionally, other wear plate materials like quenched and tempered steel, duplex wear plates, and carbide coatings offer tailored solutions for specific industrial needs, further enhancing equipment durability and efficiency.
Wear Plate Material Composition and Structure
Bronze wear plates with plug graphite are typically made from high-strength bronze alloys such as CuSn12, CuAl10Ni5Fe4, or similar types. These alloys offer excellent wear resistance and mechanical strength. The key feature of these plates is the addition of graphite plugs. Graphite, being a solid lubricant, is embedded into the bronze matrix in a patterned manner. These graphite plugs reduce friction and enhance the wear properties of the bronze, making it ideal for high-load applications.

Maintenance and Lifespan
These wear plates are low maintenance due to their self-lubricating properties. Regular checks are recommended to ensure the integrity of the graphite plugs and the bronze substrate. The lifespan of these plates can be significantly long, provided they are correctly installed and operated within the recommended load and temperature limits.
This combination of durability, low maintenance, and excellent wear characteristics makes bronze wear plates with plug graphite a preferred choice in many heavy-duty applications.

Solid Bronze Bearing and Wear Plate Specifications
Our Solid Bronze Bearings are crafted using high-tensile manganese bronze, plugged with solid lubricants. The primary bronze alloy material is CuZn25Al6Fe3Mn3 with graphite (SL2) plugs. Additionally, we offer a wide range of material choices including CuSn5Pb5Zn5, CuAl10Fe5Ni5, CuSn12, among other standard materials.
Notably, we have developed the SL4 solid lubricants specifically for applications that contact water, such as jets, propellers, ships, boatyards, offshore platforms, and hydraulic turbines.
These products are predominantly used in high-load and moderate-speed applications and can withstand temperatures up to 400°C. We also possess the capability to customize these bushes and plates according to any client specifications.
